ALTAYZIE

Altayzie has been a student of hip-hop for 11 years now. He first fell in love with hip-hop when he developed a fascination with lyricism at the age of 14. He has cited that revolutionary artists such as KRS-One, Nas & Immortal Technique were, and continue to be his primary influences. However, the road to hip hop stardom has not been easy. Early in his career, he battled through bouts of severe depression and mental health hurdles. However, this has not stopped Altayzie from continuing on the path to superstardom that he has set for himself.

In 2017, he released his first project, Rainbows, which featured songs such as "No Trust," "Serotonin," and "Traveler's Anthem." Altayzie dropped his second project, Dreamscape, in 2018, and hosted his album release show at The Schlafly Tap Room. 2019 was a busy year for the up-and-coming St. Louis based artist. He opened for rock group Midwest Avengers, performed at the album release party for New Jersey based artist, Rec Riddles, and was one of the headlining artists at St. Louis's Underground Styles Showcase. He also had the opportunity to perform at the 2019 S.L.U.M.F.E.S.T Hip-Hop Music Awards. Altayzie continued to drop music releasing his Still Here EP,  which focused on his recent bouts with mental health issues. He was also a part of the soundtrack for local Ferguson, Missouri filmmaker, David Kirkman's short film, Static Shock, along with other St. Louis artists such as Mvstermind, Haiku, and REACEYUNG. Altayzie closed out his amazing year with a cypher featuring other St. Louis artists, Tank the Machine and Supreme Sol.

In February 2020, Altayzie released his first single of the year, Discreet, which features Tank the Machine and is produced by B. Young. The single highlights the solace Altayzie found in exploring abandoned buildings, giving him a sense of excitement and exhilaration, as well as a reason to stay alive.
